This is not a question to ask oneself when you’ve been up since 5:30 with two energetic grandchildren. How to get rested to do my most meaningful work? Which is, these days, my grandchildren. We were faced with cat puke on the table and dog poop in the living room first thing. Lord help me.

What a morning! I had a similar experience yesterday morning - no cat, but the dog had an accident, my dad, who's visiting after the funeral, stepped in it, and walked all around upstairs. Time to mop and spot clean the carpet was limited, but got it done good enough for now. Reading this reminds me I should probably go over that again in the morning! Glad you have this special time with your granddaughters. It will give them strength someday to know who much they were loved.
